Sergej Milinkovic-Savic bid farewell to Lazio fans after eight years, completing his transfer to Al-Hilal.
“Today is a strange day for me, it’s hard to find the right words to say goodbye…It’s been 8 years since I arrived and I will never be able to forget everything we have been through together. The Coppa Italia, the two Supercups, all the goals and assists. You always supported me and gave me the strength of a true SERGEANT. I’ve learned so much here and become the man I am today. Thanks also to the coaches and all the staff who worked with us, and to the fans who, with their passion, helped us achieve results that seemed impossible. Forza Lazio! You will always be my second home,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
Many responses to the message from Lazio fans showed their disappointment at his decision to leave just as they had qualified for the Champions League, joining a Saudi Pro League club rather than seeking to pursue his career ambitions.
