Lazio are apparently more confident of keeping Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and signing him to a new contract after no offers have been received.
The Serbian international is only under contract until June 2024, so he was expected to move on this summer. However, the asking price of 40 million euros discouraged everyone and no formal offer was received. Juventus had been the most interested, but with Adrien Rabiot signing a new contract with them, Milinkovic-Savic no longer became a priority. Sky Sport Italia claims that Milinkovic-Savic feels disappointed by the lack of interest and is now more open to potentially signing a new extension to stay at Lazio. The fact that they have qualified for the Champions League is also pushing him towards this potential extension, even if it will be short-term to give him freedom in the future.
