Milan host Atalanta this evening in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup, a match the rossoneri will face with a very long list of unavailable players. In fact, 9 players are currently in the infirmary: defenders Kalulu, Tomori, Thiaw, Florenzi, Pellegrino and Caldara, goalkeeper Sportiello, midfielder Pobega and striker Okafor. To these must be added Chukwueze and Bennacer, who have left to compete in the CAN with their respective national teams. But there’s more to come, as Krunic is awaiting a transfer and has not been called up by Stefano Pioli.

Milan therefore had no choice but to recruit at the start of the mercato, hence the arrivals of Gabbia (back on loan from Villarreal) and Terracciano (Hellas), the former of whom is expected to start tonight. The contribution of the U19 players continues to be fundamental, with six of them still on the team sheet, including Alex Jimenez, announced as the starter at left-back by the Gazzetta dello Sport.
