Here are the main absentees for Serie A Matchday 3, which kicks off this evening as the summer mercato ends at 23:00.
Milan without four key players
Alvrao Morata is still unavailable, but three other players have been added. Striker Luka Jovic also has back problems, which is why Fonseca has called up Camarda. Ismael Bennacer is awaiting a transfer, while Malick Thiaw is out with an ankle injury. New recruits Emerson Royal and Youssouf Fofana are expected to start.
Zaniolo relapses
Nicolo Zaniolo, who finally came on against Lecce to make his debut for Atalanta, is already unavailable again after suffering muscle discomfort. Sead Kolasinac is doubtful, while Giorgio Scalvini and Gianluca Scammacca are long-term absentees.
Juventus have no one back
No miracles in Turin, as Thiago Motta doesn’t have anyone back, so Kephren Thuram, Timothy Weah and Arek Milik won’t be playing against Roma, but should be available after the break. Recruits Conceicao, Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez should be available.
Roma without Enzo Le Fée
Enzo Le Fée was injured against Empoli, and the former Rennes player will be out for another two weeks, working over the international break to get back to full fitness.
Bologna loses Ndoye
Bologna, Lille and Monaco’s European opponents, have lost one of their best players, Swiss winger Dan Ndoye, who has suffered a muscle problem in his right leg and is not expected back on the pitch for another three weeks.
