Inter were due to welcome Mehdi Taremi for his medical check-up today, but have now decided to postpone the Porto striker’s arrival.

The 31-year-old Iranian has less than six months left on his contract with the Portuguese club and is not interested in a new deal, allowing him to sign a pre-contract with his new club, which is expected to be the Nerazzurri. Taremi has agreed to sign a two-year contract with an option for a third worth around €3 million net per season plus add-ons, and Inter have drawn up his medicals for this week, keen to finalize his arrival well before the summer. As detailed by Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter have decided to postpone both Taremi’s flight to Italy and his pre-transfer medicals at the club, delaying matters until later in the year. The club’s management want to avoid any possible problems for the striker, who still has four months to play for Porto. The Iranian striker is expected to undergo his medical with the Nerazzurri in secret at some point in the coming months. Piotr Zielinski passed his medical with Inter last month, with six months left on his contract with Napoli, and the Partenopei responded by removing him from their UEFA Champions League squad list.
