M’Bala Nzola joined Fiorentina this summer from La Spezia. He is reunited with Vincenzo Italiano, whom he had worked with at Trapani Calcio a few years earlier. He talks about the change in his new coach, whom he once described as irascible. Today, he sees him as more level-headed and relaxed.
“He’s someone I get on well with without even opening my mouth. One look is enough and I already understand everything. Today, as in 2018 when I met him in Trapani, I found him much calmer. Before, he was always ‘on the ball’, he was never ‘off’. I’m not saying he was irascible, but still tough. Now I see him more relaxed,” began the Angolan. When will I be at my best? I’m not at my best yet, but I’m sweating every day to get into top shape as soon as possible. In a few weeks, I’ll reach my ideal level,” M’Bala Nzola told Corriere Dello Sport.
