Il Mattino and Tuttosport newspaper report that Maurizio Sarri could return to Napoli if the Partenopei hire Frederic Massara as their new sporting director.

Tuttosport and Il Mattino report that Sarri could return to Napoli this summer, five years after leaving the club to join Chelsea. The 65-year-old recently resigned at Lazio, so is free to sign for any other club, and according to both newspapers, his chances of returning to Napoli will increase if Aurelio De Laurentiis hires Massara as his new sporting director. Tuttosport claims that ADL is still hoping to persuade Antonio Conte to move to the Stadio Maradona, but the former Inter and Juventus coach is unlikely to accept the Partenopei offer. De Laurentiis is ready to involve director Gianluca Petrachi, a close friend of Conte, in the Napoli project, but if his plan fails, Sarri and Massara could have a chance. It’s worth remembering, however, that De Laurentiis and Sarri no longer seem to be on good terms. The Partenopei owner has never forgiven Sarri for leaving the club in 2018, calling him a “loser” after he resigned as Lazio coach.
