Lazio have not yet said their last word on the summer mercato. While the likes of Hugo Lloris and Leonardo Bonucci are on the waiting list, the Rome club seem much closer to closing the deal for Matteo Guendouzi, the French midfielder who plays for Olympique de Marseille.
Serguej Milinkovic-Savic left Lazio this summer for Saudi Arabia. His departure left a gaping hole in the midfield. Even though Daichi Kamada has arrived, the club is still looking for reinforcements. Matteo Guendouzi has been under consideration for several days. At a press conference today, Marseille president Pablo Longoria confirmed the interest and offer from none other than Lazio. “There are still five days to go before the end of the market… as for Matteo Guendouzi, there are still a few details to be worked out, although I can confirm that there is an offer on the table,” declared the OM president, without wishing to go into too much detail about the situation. The deal should be finalized in the next few days.
