Former Inter owner Massimo Moratti believes his beloved Nerazzurri can go all the way in the Champions League if they finish the job against Benfica in the second leg of their quarterfinal.
Simone Inzaghi’s out-of-form side gave themselves a big advantage ahead of next week’s second leg at the San Siro after Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku ensured Inter left Lisbon with a two-goal lead. Inter have been widely praised for their performance at the Estadio da Luz despite going six games without a win in all competitions in the build-up to the last eight European clashes. Speaking to 90min.com, the former Inter owner said: “That game against Benfica was a very important hurdle to overcome, the work is not completely finished but a good 50% has been done, if not more. And I must say that this puts him in a position to move on to the next round and meet a team that he knows since it is one of the two Italian teams. After that, there is only the final”.
