Paul Pogba was recently found guilty of doping and suspended for four years from all football-related activities. On the sidelines of the match between Napoli and Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri, coach of the Old Lady, was asked to comment on the news. He said he felt sorry for the French midfielder, whom he described as a good boy. However, he refrained from commenting on the merits of the court ruling.
“I wrote him a message yesterday, or rather the day before. Humanely speaking, I’m really sorry. And from a footballing point of view, we are also losing an extraordinary player. I was lucky enough to work with him, to coach him. It’s hard to find players like that. I can’t go into the merits of the sentence, there are bodies that are responsible. But humanly speaking, I’m also sorry, because Paul is also a very good boy,” said Massimiliano Allegri in a press conference.
