Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli has been ruled out of Italy’s Euro-2024 qualifiers against Northern Macedonia and Ukraine.

The Azzurri currently occupy third place in their qualifying group and need wins over North Macedonia and Ukraine to qualify. Failure to do so would leave Italy in the play-offs, which would be their last chance of qualifying. Locatelli has quietly been one of Juventus’s most important players this season, scoring a goal and providing an assist in his first 12 Serie A games. As coach Luciano Spalletti confirmed at his press conference yesterday, Locatelli has been forced to withdraw from the Italian training camp in Coverciano due to injury. Juventus announced that examinations undergone by the Bianconeri midfielder with the national team medical staff revealed a slightly dislocated fracture of a rib following an impact during the last league match against Cagliari.
