Gabriele Gravina, President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), gave an interview to Avvenire in which he discussed his relationship with former national coach Roberto Mancini. He remains convinced that they’ll get back on the same wavelength and kiss one day without any intermediary.
“We will kiss alone, without an intermediary. In this case, the technical aspect was not properly distinguished from that of human sensitivity. I shared five years with Mancini, in which I invested above all on the level of a friendly relationship, and I didn’t expect to find myself in difficulty on a technical level, as happened on August 16. In his choice, it was perhaps human frailties that prevailed, as each of us feels fears and anxieties at certain moments in our lives that are difficult to admit… Roberto had already received other important offers, but he couldn’t give up the chance to become Saudi Arabia’s coach,” said Gravina.
