Paul Ince doesn’t doubt that Inter can beat Manchester City in the Champions League final and explained why they should start Romelu Lukaku in Istanbul.
The odds are apparently stacked against Simone Inzaghi and Inter, but the Nerazzurri have shown their ability to seize the’occasion and will be confident in their chances ahead of the decisive clash on June 10. “If you think about the group with Barcelona and Bayern, yes, it can be a pleasant surprise, but the next match is elitist and shouldn’t surprise anyone. I know what a derby in Milan means, it’s the most sincere and vibrant match I’ve ever played, let alone this time in a Champions League final. How I wish I could have been on the pitch, hearing people call me ‘governor’! Inter have come through this battle at the San Siro and are rightly in Istanbul. Lukaku should play from the start rather than Dzeko. Edin is a fantastic player, very good with the ball, but he doesn’t have the same rhythm on the open pitch, for City it would be easier to stop him,” Ince told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
