Lazio have officially announced that star midfielder Luis Alberto has signed a new four-year contract with the club.
The 31-year-old Spaniard has been with the Biancocelesti since August 2016, on a low-cost deal from Liverpool. Since his arrival, he has become one of the club’s most important and decisive players, playing a key role in the Coppa Italia and the two Supercoppa Italiana victories. Luis Alberto has been no stranger to controversy and rumours in the transfer market during his seven years in the Italian capital, but despite this, he remains a fan favourite and a key player for Lazio. As announced, Luis Alberto has officially signed a new four-year contract, tying him to Lazio until June 2027. In the announcement video, he joked: “I solemnly swear that I don’t do anything good”, in reference to his nickname. “the Wizard” and the Harry Potter series. The Spanish midfielder has played every available minute for Lazio this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 720 minutes of action.
