Luciano Spalletti has threatened to leave Napoli if the fans don’t get behind the team in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against AC Milan.
In his post-match press conference after the 1-0 defeat at the San Siro on Wednesday night, the 64-year-old tactician criticized the atmosphere created by the fans during the last meeting between the two teams at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. “I don’t know what kind of atmosphere to expect in the second leg but you can imagine how upset I was to see our stadium like that against AC Milan. We won the championship after 33 years of waiting. We were playing an important game and we saw that “tutti contro tutti” is something I will never understand and that I will always carry with me. If the same thing happens in the return game, I will leave the bench and go home. Because it is something that cannot be explained. The boys are sensitive to what happens around them and against AC Milan in Maradona, we played in an absurd atmosphere. We were taken hostage,” Spalletti told the press.
