Leonardo Spinazzola is reportedly on the verge of joining Napoli on a free transfer. According to Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Spinazzola is ready to join Napoli on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Roma.

The two parties have met again in recent hours, and an agreement between the club and the player’s agent, Davide Lippi, is close.
Spinazzola’s representative is pushing for a two-year contract or a one-year deal with an option for another season. On the other hand, Napoli wants to find a formula that would protect the club if Spinazzola suffers a long-term injury. Spinazzola, 31, tore his Achilles tendon in 2021 during Italy’s EURO 2020 campaign, but enjoyed regular playing time at Roma last season, making 36 appearances in all competitions with over 2,000 minutes on the pitch. The two parties are therefore close to reaching an agreement so that Antonio Conte can finally work with the Italian full-back, who was already on the verge of joining Inter in January 2020 in an exchange deal with Matteo Politano. According to Repubblica, Spinazzola will undergo his medical with Napoli next week before starting pre-season with his new club.
