Leandro Paredes praises Daniele De Rossi

Leandro Paredes opened up about Roma’s evolution under Daniele De Rossi ahead of their Europa League semi-final with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Giallorossi have been one of Serie A’s most in-form teams since the former midfielder arrived in January to replace Jose Mourinho. Roma have won nine of their 14 league games under De Rossi, putting them on course for Champions League qualification. Roma have also impressed on the European stage under their new coach, notching up wins over Feyenoord in the play-offs, Brighton in the last 16 and AC Milan in the quarter-finals, putting them up against Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals. Speaking at a press conference via TMW, Paredes began by discussing his growth and Roma’s growth under De Rossi. “The overall growth, not only mine but also the team’s, is due to the enthusiasm the coach has brought us. What’s more, his style of play suits the team better, and that’s helped us grow. For me, he was already a coach when we played together. I’ve always been close to him, and he’s always treated me well. Having him as a coach is a pleasure and an honor. I hope to continue to work well for him and for the team. Anyway, when you get used to these levels, you want to stay there. Playing this match will be very enjoyable, and we hope to do very well, because to win, you have to play at 100%”, declared the Argentine international.
