La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Immobile has suffered an injury to his right thigh flexor. Immobile was injured during Friday’s 1-0 win over Napoli at the Stadio Maradona and did not train with his teammates yesterday.
He will not be available for Tuesday’s Conference League home game against AZ Alkmaar and will likely remain out of action in the next Serie A match with Bologna this weekend. According to Gazzetta, the new injury means Immobile is doubtful for the Rome derby in two weeks, while Sky Sport Italia claims the experienced striker could be back against Bologna. Immobile, 33, has missed 10 games due to injury this season, but has scored 11 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions.
