Lautaro Martinez insists he has “nothing to envy” from top strikers like Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland or Robert Lewandowski. “The figures and the trophies say it all.
The Nerazzurri captain published an interview with Gazzetta, talking about his plans for the future and Inter’s title-winning season. “I don’t have anything to envy the best strikers like Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland or Robert Lewandowski, the figures and trophies say so. There are champions who have won fewer trophies than me. I must continue to work hard with responsibility, as my father taught me, but I can sit at the same table as these great players,” he declared. Lautaro Martinez is Inter’s top scorer this season and Serie A’s Capocannoniere. The 26-year-old has scored 27 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, 24 in 33 Serie A games. His contract at the Stadio Meazza expires in June 2026, but Inter hope to reach an agreement soon to extend his stay at the club. In the same interview, Lautaro declared that he was on the verge of shaking hands with the Nerazzurri, although Suning’s problems could slow down negotiations.
