After their chants during the match against AC Milan, the Juventus ultras also held up a giant banner calling on Max Allegri to extend his contract.
The Bianconeri currently occupy third place in Serie A this season, but qualified for the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta on May 15. Given the poor results, many fans are unhappy with Allegri’s style and would welcome a change at the helm for next season. However, the official ultras adore Allegri, regularly singing for him during matches. After the 0-0 draw with AC Milan, the Viking Juve group held a huge banner outside the arena that was a direct message to the coach.
“Mr. Allegri, you must stay, we want to go to the World Cup with you,” read the banner. The Bianconeri have qualified for the 2025 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States of America. It runs from June 15 to July 13, 2025, which is technically after Allegri’s contract expires on June 30. So, in effect, this is a plea for Allegri not only to stay on next season, but also to extend his current contract beyond the summer of 2025.
