According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have prepared a shortlist of five midfielders for the summer, while talks to extend Adrien Rabiot’s contract remain on hold.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus and Rabiot are in no hurry to extend their agreement, which expires in June. The French international signed a one-year contract extension last summer and will evaluate his options in the coming months. According to Gazzetta, both parties will probably make a final decision after Euro 2024. Rabiot joined Juventus on a free transfer from PSG in 2019 and played under Maurizio Sarri, Andrea Pirlo and Massimiliano Allegri in Turin. Gazzetta reports that Rabiot is “attracted” by the Premier League, but hasn’t ruled out staying at the Allianz Stadium, claiming recently that he wants to win “more Serie A titles” with the Old Lady. While Juventus are preparing for talks with the midfielder’s mother and agent, they have also been monitoring several midfielders who could replace Rabiot next season. Their main target is Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners, but Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad), Lewis Ferguson (Bologna), Georgiy Sudakov (Shakhtar Donetsk) and Lazar Samardzic (Udinese) are also on the club’s wish list.
