Juventus director of soccer Francesco Calvo has confirmed that the club is considering an appeal against the decision to close part of its stadium after racist chants were heard in the stands during the Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter on Tuesday.
Racist taunts aimed at Inter’s Romelu Lukaku were heard in some sections of the Allianz Stadium during the 1-1 cup draw. A decision was made by the sports judge in Italy ruled that the Tribuna Sud stand of the Juve stadium will be closed for one match following the racist incidents of some individuals on the field. The closure will fall on Juve’s next home game, which will be against Serie A league leader Napoli on April 23.
