Juventus have lost the arbitration case against their former striker Cristiano Ronaldo, so they officially owe the Portuguese forward almost 10 million euros plus interest.

As reported by Sport Mediaset, an arbitration tribunal ruled on Wednesday that the Bianconeri now owe their former striker 9.7 million euros plus interest. Ronaldo had started a legal battle with his former club over 19.5 million euros in exceptional wages resulting from two salary maneuvers carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. Juventus had entered into private agreements with Ronaldo and other footballers, deferring payment of their salaries, but according to investigators, the club failed to inform the FIGC or report the maneuvers on their financial statements. The arbitration tribunal, however, ruled that Ronaldo and Juventus share responsibility, so the Bianconeri will only pay half of the unpaid salary of 19.5 million euros, plus interest. Ronaldo left Juventus in 2021 after a three-year spell in Turin, during which he scored 101 goals in 134 games.
