Juventus have submitted their first bid for Atalanta striker Teun Koopmeiners.
The 26-year-old Dutchman has been one of the best midfielders in the Italian league this term, playing a crucial role in Dea’s historic Europa League success and their charge for Champions League qualification. Koopmeiners has attracted the attention of Juventus, Liverpool and various other top clubs due to his solid and consistent performances for Atalanta, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists in 50 appearances in all competitions. Calciomercato.com and La Gazzetta dello Sport detail how Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli sent an offer to Atalanta for the Koopmeiners, proposing a fixed fee of €40 million with €5 million in add-ons. This is below the 60 million euros set by Dea, forcing the old lady to modify their offer. Giuntoli plans to try and include young Dean Huijsen in the negotiations to help reduce costs.
