Juventus and Gleison Bremer reach agreement on contract extension

Gleison Bremer has agreed to sign a new long-term contract with Juventus that will include a higher release clause than his current deal.

The 27-year-old Brazilian international put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with the Old Lady in December last year, a deal which included a €60 million release clause. As the summer approached, rumours began to circulate about his future in Turin. A number of clubs across Europe, including Manchester United, were seriously interested in recruiting Bremer this summer, but a transfer never materialized. It became clear that the defender was satisfied with Juventus and made no attempt to leave the club. He will sign the contract in the next few hours, confirming his future with the Old Lady. In his first two years with the Bianconeri, the 27-year-old defender scored eight goals and provided one assist in 83 games, establishing himself as one of Serie A’s best center-backs.
