Tiago Pinto, Roma’s current sporting director, will be leaving his post in February. In a press conference ahead of the match against Atalanta, José Mourinho was asked about the matter, and in particular his compatriot’s achievements. The Special One declared that he was not in the best position to judge the work of a superior.

“Making considerations about a manager isn’t for me. I’m respectful of hierarchies, I’m here, the higher the manager and the higher the owner. I’ve got experience, but I can’t comment on a superior’s work, I’m not capable of that. I am able to say that I wish the director the best, and he knows it because we are friends, it is his decision that must be respected, I will always be for him to do well. Evaluating isn’t right, he’s the one who has to evaluate me, not me. In the future, the situation will be the same, it won’t be the coach who makes comments,” declared José Mourinho.
