Andrea Belotti has officially joined Fiorentina on loan from Roma, giving him a fresh start for the second half of this season.
The 30-year-old Italian striker has joined Viola de Vincenzo Italiano on a six-month loan deal worth around €750,000, with no option to buy. He has struggled for regular minutes with the Giallorossi this season, making just six Serie A starts in 14 appearances. Fiorentina signed M’Bala Nzola from Spezia last summer for around €12 million to strengthen their front line and were disappointed by the Angolan striker’s work, scoring just four goals in 1640 minutes of action in 30 games across all competitions. As confirmed, Belotti has officially joined Fiorentina and will be part of the Italiano squad ahead of their Serie A clash with Lecce on February 2. He did not need to undergo another series of medical examinations. The Italian striker’s stay at Roma has been rather disappointing after arriving on a free transfer 18 months ago, scoring just 10 goals in 68 games.
