FIGC President Gabriele Gravina is “relatively satisfied” with the draw for EURO 2024, which brought together Spain, Croatia and Albania. “Italy must try to defend the title in a complicated, but not impossible, group.”

Although they are the reigning European champions, they received absolutely no boost to qualify for the next tournament in Germany, nor any advantage in the overall standings, since the draw was made solely on the basis of the results of the qualifying group stage. This means that Italy have been placed in pot 4 and have chosen a very difficult group with Spain, Croatia and Albania.
“I think I can say that I’m relatively satisfied. As with all draws, we were hoping for a simpler situation, but it could also have been worse. We are convinced that we can do well, and Luciano Spalletti is convinced that we can recover the fans’extraordinary push, who are expecting an important message from the team. We need the same feeling that drove the Azzurri to win EURO 2020, and with Spalletti’s effort, enthusiasm and intuition, I’m sure that together we can achieve another great result,” said Gabriele Gravina. La Nazionale will kick off their tournament in Dortmund against Albania on June 15, then take on Spain in Gelsenkirchen on June 20 before facing Croatia in Leipzig on June 24.
