“Italy must defend its honour at Euro 2024”, Andrea Abodi

With Euro 2024 fast approaching, the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, urges the Italian national team to behave in an exemplary manner and defend the honor of their championship title. Preparations are in full swing, and expectations are high.

“The important thing will be to behave more than decently on and off the pitch. Arriving as defending champions, we’ll have to defend the honor of the title and of Italian soccer, and not just that.” This is how the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, described Italy’s ambitions for the European Football Championship, at an event in Piazza di Siena. He stressed the importance for the national team to prepare serenely in the final days before the tournament, while trusting in the wisdom of Luciano Spalletti and the players selected by the coach. Abodi also highlighted the organization and unity of the Italian community in Germany, exemplified by the “Punto Italia” initiative, which provides a point of reference for the many Italian fans. He also wished the Italian referees present an excellent tournament, while hoping that their journey would not take them all the way to the final, a sign that the national team could be in their place. The Minister also reiterated the importance of honor and exemplary behavior throughout Euro 2024.
