Rafael Leao will start for AC Milan against Inter tonight, but Gazzetta warns that the Portuguese “is not Leo Messi”, so the Rossoneri “must play as a unit” to keep their hopes alive.

Leao missed the first leg last week due to a muscle injury but will return to the starting lineup tonight. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport correspondent Sebastiano Vernazza believes that the Rossoneri star alone will not be enough for AC Milan to qualify for the final in Istanbul. “Will AC Milan turn the tables thanks to Leao? No, if they don’t play as a team. A single player can’t turn around a 2-0 defeat unless his name is Leo Messi, the only contemporary footballer with a license to play. In addition, Leao returned from a muscle injury. Nothing serious, but his return was rushed because the game tonight is worth the access to the Final. A rare feat, difficult to achieve every season. Leao will not change anything if AC Milan does not play as a unit keeping the right distance between the lines. Leao alone, without a regenerated AC Milan, will not be able to turn the tide, but without Leao’s chances AC Milan would be minimal,” writes the journalist in his column in Tuesday’s print edition.
