On the sidelines of England’s meeting with Italy, Fabio Capello gave his views on the match. The Italian, and former England coach, gave a brief history of the meetings between the two teams. He then spoke of the emergence of Saudi soccer. According to him, this prevents Italy from fielding any good players in Serie A.

“Italy won three times at Wembley… Let that be a good omen because when we played at Wembley, we had negative points results, let’s hope it continues like that. The English invented soccer, but there were times when we taught them. In the 90s, Italian soccer was the most important, now English soccer is at the top. Now in Italy, there are good players, but we don’t have those who can teach others… It will be difficult to see great players in our league, Arabia is also involved,” said Fabio Capello.
