Despite losing Marko Arnautovic for a significant period of time through injury, Inter won’t be looking to the free agent market to replace him, despite an intriguing list of options available on the market.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reiterated on Monday afternoon that Inter and coach Simone Inzaghi are satisfied with the squad assembled this summer and, like Atalanta , who lost Gianluca Scamacca and El Bilal Touré to injury, will not be looking to recruit an immediate replacement. However, several names have been mentioned should Inter decide to dive back into the free agent market. At the top of the list is Papu Gomez, who ended his contract with Sevilla a year ago and has yet to find a club. Rumors were reported in Saudi Arabia and at Monza, although Adriano Galliani later denied the latter. There is also a selection of players who will experience Serie A as a championship, namely Felipe Caicedo, Stefano Okaka and Simone Zaza, but La Gazzetta suggests that none of them would be of particular interest to the Nerazzurri.

Also currently available are former Premier League stars Andre Ayew and Jesse Lingard, as well as former Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi. The most high-profile player currently without a club is former Chelsea and Real Madrid striker Eden Hazard, but the Belgian is increasingly leaning towards early retirement, according to La Gazzetta. Instead, Inter will promote 19-year-old Primavera striker Amadou Sarr from within to replace Arnautovic.
