Benjamin Pavard explains why he was so determined to leave Bayern Munich for Inter, including the opportunity to show another side of his game.
The defender has been used for many years as a full-back in Germany and France, but the move to San Siro was also an opportunity to play as a central defender in a defensive trio. “I’ve been following Italian soccer for a long time, and I have a lot of friends who play in Italy. I consider it a tactically difficult league and I think I can learn a lot here. I’m proud to be part of a great club like Inter. I play soccer to win trophies. At the end of my career, I’ll be proud to look back on everything I’ve won. I hope there’ll be a lot more, because I’m still hungry for silverware. I would love to win many titles with Inter, starting with the Scudetto. Inter share my ambition, which is to win as many trophies as possible. I’d been in Germany for seven years, and I felt the time had come for a new challenge,” the veteran told DAZN.
