Transfer expert Matteo Moretto confirms that Denzel Dumfries is likely to leave Inter at the end of the season, but the Nerazzurri want at least €20 million for the Dutch right-back.
Dumfries’s Inter contract expires in June 2025, but talks on a new deal at the Stadio Meazza have gone nowhere so far. Soccer Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto told Caught Offside that Aston Villa and Manchester United have wanted the 27-year-old in the past, and that more and more Premier League clubs are enquiring about the Nerazzurri defender. Dumfries is “much closer to leaving this summer than to staying”, said Moretto. The Italian transfer expert added that Inter’s asking price would probably be around €20 million, given that Dumfries’s contract expires in less than 18 months. April and May will be crucial months in determining the future of the Inter defender, who has scored nine goals in 117 appearances for the Nerazzurri. Dumfries has started the last three Serie A games on the bench, while January recruit Tajon Buchanan could be his long-term replacement at the Stadio Meazza.
