Controversy has been growing in Italy in recent days, following a succession of refereeing errors in a number of matches and complaints from several managers about the use of VAR. In today’s edition, Tuttosport focused on the distribution of yellow cards, with the headline “Yellows of embarrassment”. The Italian sports daily analyzed the frequency with which the top two teams, Inter and Juventus, are punished for fouls.

As a result, Juventus are the most punished club, with 50 yellow cards received, twice as many as Inter, who, with 24 warnings, are the least punished. Tuttosport also analyzes the average number of cards per foul committed. Juventus receive a yellow card for every 6.13 fouls committed, with only Monza, Frosinone, Milan, Napoli and Genoa doing worse. Inter, on the other hand, receive a yellow card for every 12.71 fouls committed, with nobody doing better.
