Good news for Inter ahead of the Champions League final against Manchester City. After several weeks out of action, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is back in training with the team. The 34-year-old Armenian midfielder has been at the heart of Simone Inzaghi’s team in the Lombardy capital this season, starting 11 of their 12 Champions League games, but has been hampered by injuries in recent weeks.
Mkhitaryan missed Inter’s final three Serie A games of the season with a hamstring injury, and it was feared he’d be forced to miss the Champions League final against Manchester City, which kicks off in Istanbul on June 10. As TMW pointed out, Mkhitaryan resumed collective training yesterday at Appiano Gentile, alongside Simone Inzaghi and his Inter team-mates. He is now expected to be fit for the final, bolstering the midfield for their decisive clash in Istanbul. The 34-year-old Armenian midfielder has scored five goals and provided two assists in 48 appearances in all competitions this season.
