Inter have been tracking Tiger striker Mateo Retegui for over a year and are planning to sign him this summer. The 23-year-old Argentine striker made his name after being called up by Italian coach Roberto Mancini for this international break. He made his debut for the Azzurri in their 2-1 loss to England, scoring the only goal in a tough Euro 2024 qualifier.

Retegui now looks set to move to Serie A this summer and one club in particular is leading the race to secure the 23-year-old’s signature. As reported by Matteo Barzaghi of Sky Sports Italia, Inter have been keeping a close eye on Retegui for over a year now and have an excellent relationship with Tigre, giving them a boost in their pursuit of the striker. Dario Baccin personally watched the Argentine-born striker during Italy’s loss to England and was impressed with what he saw. Retegui is currently at Tigre on a two-year loan from Boca Juniors, which will be made permanent this summer for 2.5 million euros. The Buenos Aires giants will keep 50% of a future resale on the talent.
