Romelu Lukaku is reportedly ready to reduce his salary to help extend his stay at Inter, but Chelsea must also give a loan discount.

The forward has repeatedly made it clear that he is happy at the San Siro and regrets making the €113 million move to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2021. He returned a year later on loan for 8 million euros and is finally finding his form after a season full of injury problems. Preparing for the Champions League final against Manchester City and the Coppa Italia final with Fiorentina, Lukaku is eager to make his mark as well in order to convince Inter to keep him for another year. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Belgian international is willing to reduce his salary to help make the deal happen, but two other situations must also occur. Inter must finish in the top four and therefore qualify for the Champions League, while Chelsea must give them a discount on the €8 million cost of a one-season loan.
