La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Mario Hermoso “has convinced everyone” at Inter, so the Nerazzurri are confident of signing the defender from Atletico Madrid, even if West Ham and Aston Villa may make higher contract offers.
Hermoso’s contract with Atletico Madrid expires at the end of the season, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Colchoneros won’t offer the 28-year-old a new deal. The Nerazzurri are not yet in advanced talks with the defender’s entourage, but the Spanish international has “convinced everyone” at Pinetina, so the Serie A giants are preparing a four-year contract worth 5 million euros per season. The deal could also include an option for a further season. Hermoso would replace Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij, as one of them could leave the Stadio Meazza at the end of the season. Other clubs are interested in Hermoso, including West Ham and Aston Villa. The two Premier League teams are likely to offer Hermoso a higher wage, but Inter’s status as one of Europe’s top clubs makes the Nerazzurri confident of beating them to the 28-year-old’s signature.
