The relevant directors of Inter and AC Milan will meet local government delegates to discuss the proposed referendum on the future of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza at the first face-to-face meeting on the issue on Monday afternoon.
Discussions at Monday’s meeting will supposedly cover the proposed referendum, whether the two clubs will be able to go ahead with plans for new stadiums and whether or not these plans will be implemented before the end of next season. The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri are still pushing for the referendum to decide their respective futures at the San Siro, and believe that if it is to take place, it should be no later than this summer. Giuseppe Sala, mayor of Milan, is not expected to attend Monday’s meeting, after declaring his disapproval of the proposed referendum. However, the referendum committee, represented by Anna Camposampiero, Andrea Bonessa and Veronica Dini, as well as the board of directors of the Palazzo Marino and representatives of the local government urban regeneration sector are all expected to attend on Monday.
