France faced Ireland on Thursday evening as part of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. Olivier Giroud was forced off through injury midway through the match. The AC Milan striker subsequently spoke to La Gazzetta Dello Sport about his feelings.
Olivier Giroud played just 28 minutes in France’s 2-0 victory over Ireland. Touched in the match, he was replaced by Marcus Thuram. He later revealed the nature of his injury. “I made a strange movement on the same ankle on which I had received a blow in the Champions League against Napoli from Kim. At the moment I’ve got a weakness, which is manageable. It hasn’t hurt for weeks. I wanted to carry on, but the ankle told me to stop. But now I’m already better, but I’m too worried. Tomorrow I’m going to do some tests”, revealed the former Arsenal player.
