According to reports in France, Olivier Giroud has no serious ankle injury, but will leave the French camp to avoid any further risk.
L’Equipe now reports that tests have revealed no serious damage, but Giroud will nevertheless be released prematurely from his international duties by coach Didier Deschamps. He will therefore miss the friendly against Germany. It’s a mutual decision, as the 36-year-old wants to make sure he doesn’t run any risks ahead of upcoming matches at club level. AC Milan take on Serie A rivals Inter just after the break, before hosting Newcastle United in their Champions League opener.
