Alessandro Buongiorno held his first press conference as a Napoli player today. Speaking to the microphones in the Castel di Sangro press room, the former Torino player addressed a number of issues, including his delight at being at Napoli.
“I was approached by many teams, but I played and grew up in Turin. I felt like I was betraying myself. Here, you can feel the affection of the people, I was in Naples and you could feel the passion of the people for soccer and the team. I’m really happy with the choice I made,” he declared with emotion. Buongiorno also spoke of his personal goals and areas for improvement: “They’re always there, I try to understand with the coach all the concepts and movements he wants. To do that, we watch a lot of videos and talk to his staff. It takes time to assimilate the concepts, whereas with desire, you learn in a short space of time. The coach is very clear that we need to improve, but we’re on the right track. The warm welcome from the Neapolitan fans and the passion for soccer in the city have made a strong impression on Buongiorno, who already seems to be fitting in perfectly with his new team. His enthusiasm and determination to improve augur well for a promising season for both defender and club.
