After 11 years with Inter, Samir Hanadovic is leaving the Nerazzurri. Before his departure, the Slovenian wrote a moving message on his Instagram account.

“After 11 years, I don’t know if I can describe everything… I’m trying, because I’m bitter and sad but at the same time happy to have fulfilled a dream for so long. I’ll miss Inter, the San Siro stadium, the fans and that thrill when the stadium pushes. They teach you and mark you, they explain to you what passion and courage are and why you have to sacrifice every day to feel certain emotions. So many battles won and challenges lost, disappointments and joys. Being yourself means more to me than anything else in our world (soccer, I mean) of hypocrites, I’ve tried to be a man before being a footballer. I’d like to thank everyone.

The companions of so many years with the Nerazzurri, the coaches, the staff, the doctors, the physiotherapists, the storekeepers, all the collaborators, the presidents and the managers of those very different years, which I lived in such a profound way and with such a strong sense of belonging that I couldn’t have imagined before. I would like to thank our corner of the warehouse where we won games we lost and celebrated those we won, even if many will never understand… I would like to dedicate a special thank you to the Curva Nord. In addition to the love for these colors, we were united by the direct, practical, honest and consistent way of seeing soccer, which isn’t that of words and chatter. Attitude. Because I’ve always had one,” revealed the Inter keeper.
