Juventus’ new midfielder Carlos Alcaraz spoke of his emotions after joining the club.
The 21-year-old Argentinian striker signed on Wednesday for Bianconeri side Southampton on a six-month loan deal worth €3.7 million with €1.9 million in add-ons, with a €49.5 million purchase option also included. Alcaraz adds another option to Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus squad for the second half of this season. Speaking to the Juventus media department, Alcaraz explained how he had experienced the negotiations between Juventus and Southampton.
“Everything was very quick, but also very pleasant. My agent told me of my interest and I tried to stay calm. My girlfriend was very supportive, very nice. I knew I had to stay calm because things might not go well, but now I’m here and I’m very happy to be at this great club. The first few days here were very good. It’s been impressive, it’s a dream. I know I’ll have to work hard to achieve my goals, both with Juventus and as an individual. It was crazy because I was playing with Juventus on PlayStation and now I’m here. I come here with a lot of determination and a desire to win and play. I’m a very competitive guy, I don’t like to lose. That’s why I’ll do my best for as long as I wear this shirt,” declared Alcaraz.
