Barring a turn of events, AC Milan are set to bid farewell to Stefano Pioli at the end of the season. His replacement could be the current FC Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez. At least, that would be Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s choice.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is playing a leading role at AC Milan these days. The former Swedish striker has the latitude to propose the next coach of the Rossoneri. With Stefano Pioli’s departure almost a foregone conclusion, Ibra has reportedly suggested Xavi Hernandez, according to Calcio Mercato. The Barça coach has announced his departure at the end of the season. This leaves the door open to his arrival in Lombardy. But Xavi is not the only candidate in the running to succeed Pioli. Others include Thiago Motta, Paul Fonseca and Julen Lopetegui. For the time being, however, the club’s administration has made no definitive decision.
