Zlatan Ibrahimovic, senior advisor to AC Milan’s top management, has a particular name in mind to replace current coach Stefano Pioli at the end of his tenure at the San Siro.
According to SempreMilan, Ibrahimovic’s ideal replacement for Pioli is Antonio Conte. Conte has been out of work for less than a year now, having been relieved of his duties at Premier League side Tottenham on March 26, 2023. Based on reports over the last 11 months, Conte will take time to decide which project will suit him best. What is clear in the AC Milan camp is that Ibrahimovic will have something to say on the subject of AC Milan’s next coach. The Swede appeared alongside RedBird owner Gerry Cardinale at the Financial Times Business of Football summit in London on Thursday. Cardinale took time to clarify Ibrahimovic’s day-to-day roles and responsibilities. Cardinale made it clear that Ibrahimovic has the power to direct the club’s staff in the big boss’s absence.
