Arthur Melo left Juventus this summer to join Fiorentina. A few weeks after his arrival in Florence, the Brazilian midfielder revealed that he wasn’t convinced of the project when he arrived at the club. He acknowledged coach Vincenzo Italiano’s involvement in his final decision.
My adventure at Alto began with a call from my agent Pastorello. I was happy, I knew that Fiorentina were coming off a fine season, but I wasn’t 100% convinced. It’s all Vincenzo Italiano’s fault. I listened to him and realized that Florence was the place for me. He explained to me that a player with my characteristics would have been fundamental. Listening to the explanation, I realized that my position is the one I prefer”, Arthur Melo told La Nazione.
