Lautaro Martinez has made it clear that he’s ready to sign his new contract with Inter, and suggested that the team is “on the up” under coach Simone Inzaghi.
The Argentine striker was appointed club captain this summer following the retirement of Samir Handanovic, who became a talismanic figure and star striker during his five years at the club. Lautaro’s current contract expires in June 2026, and Inter are keen to confine their star man, ready to break their wage structure to offer him a lucrative deal reflecting his importance to the club and his world-class abilities. Speaking to Sport Mediaset, Lautaro was first asked when he would be ready to sign his new contract with Inter. “For me, it’s ready, there are just a few details missing. I really want to extend my contract, I feel good here and also my family is happy. The people love me and I love them. The club will do its part. It won’t take long, there’s no problem, I’m calm,” declared the Argentine international.
