Walter Sabatini, one of Italy’s greatest sports directors, gave an interview to Il Foglio. He talks about what he considers a flop in his career as a scout. He mentions the case of Adrien Rabiot. The former Salernitana said he was very close to signing him, without mentioning which club.
“The flops were even too many and I don’t want to remember them. The flops are not only the players I bought who didn’t come back, but also the purchases I missed. For example, I consider the fact that I couldn’t close the contract of Adrien Rabiot as a big flop. I had him in my hand and at the last moment, for contingent reasons, I lost him,” said the former Roma and Inter sporting director.
